Ghost: Free Postgres For Agents

Agents are desperate for ephemeral databases.

They spin up projects, fork environments, test ideas, and tear them down. Over and over. But every database on the market was designed for humans who provision once and stick around. Agents don't work that way.

Ghost is a database built for agents. Unlimited databases, unlimited forks, 1 TB of storage, and 100 compute hours per month. All free. Try it here.

Everything Announced at Google I/O '26 🚀

Google I/O 2026 has officially wrapped, and the overarching theme is undeniable: we are rapidly moving from AI that simply answers questions to AI that proactively takes action on our behalf. With the introduction of Gemini 3.5, groundbreaking "world models," and a robust new ecosystem of autonomous agents, Google is fundamentally redefining our daily interactions with technology.

🧠 The Next Generation of Models & Infrastructure

Gemini Omni: Google's new "world model" steps beyond text prediction to simulate reality. Omni can generate any output from any input and demonstrates an intuitive understanding of physics, kinetic energy, and gravity. It even allows for conversational video editing—seamlessly changing styles, angles, or characters in your real-world footage.

Gemini 3.5 Flash: Designed for speed and agentic workflows, 3.5 Flash delivers frontier-level intelligence while operating 4x faster than comparable models and at less than half the price.

Next-Gen TPUs: Google unveiled its 8th-generation TPUs, utilizing a dual-chip approach: TPU AT (optimized for large-scale pre-training) and TPU ATI (designed for lightning-fast inference). Through "Jackson Pathways," training is now distributed seamlessly across more than 1 million TPUs globally.

Expanded Synth ID: Google's invisible watermark for AI generation is expanding to Search and Chrome. You can now use Circle to Search or right-click an image to ask, "Was this generated with AI?" and receive clear provenance.

🤖 The Rise of AI Agents

Gemini Spark: Your new 24/7 personal AI agent. Spark runs on dedicated virtual machines in the background—even when your laptop is closed—to complete complex, multi-step workflows. Whether it's planning a neighborhood block party, tracking RSVPs in Sheets, or drafting emails, Spark handles the heavy lifting.

Anti-gravity 2.0: This unabashedly "agent-first" development platform pushes the boundaries of coding. Using Anti-gravity and Gemini 3.5 Flash, a team of 93 autonomous sub-agents successfully built a fully functioning operating system from scratch in just 12 hours.

The Daily Brief: A new proactive out-of-the-box agent in the Gemini app that greets you every morning with a personalized digest synthesized from your inbox, calendar, and task list.

🔍 Search is Now "AI Search"

Generative UI & Agentic Coding: Search can now code custom, interactive widgets dynamically based on your query. From building a 3D visualizer of binary black holes to coding a fully functional, stateful "weekend planner" app on the fly, Search adapts to what you need.

Search Agents: You can now spin up multiple "Information Agents" that monitor the web 24/7. Whether you're tracking specific biotech stock fluctuations or hunting for an apartment with strict criteria, your agents separate the signal from the noise and alert you when it matters.

Intelligent Search Box: The iconic search box has received its biggest upgrade in 25 years. It now accepts text, images, files, and videos, and actively helps you formulate highly nuanced queries.

🛒 Transforming Workflows & E-Commerce

Universal Cart: Powered by the new Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP), this intelligent cart works across Google Search, YouTube, and Gmail. It tracks price drops, ensures item compatibility (e.g., catching if a PC processor doesn't match a motherboard), and applies hidden savings from your Google Wallet.

Docs Live: Say goodbye to typing precise prompts. With Docs Live, you can verbally "brain dump" your thoughts, and Gemini will instantly organize, format, and draft the document in real-time.

Ask YouTube: A conversational AI layer on top of YouTube that digests information, extracts helpful tips, and jumps right to the specific part of a video you actually need.

🎨 Creative Powerhouses & Redesigned Apps

Neural Expressive Design: The Gemini app has been completely rebuilt with fluid animations, haptic feedback, and dynamic real-time layouts that abandon the traditional "wall of text."

Google Pix & Stitch: Pix is a new Google Workspace tool for highly-controllable image generation and editing. Stitch takes this a step further, allowing users to generate and refine UI screens and entire website designs at the speed of thought.

Google Flow Updates: The creative suite now features a multi-action agent capable of turning a single image into 16 unique videos or executing large-scale environmental edits. Additionally, Flow Music allows artists to prompt and generate original music directly from rough audio recordings.

Gemini Mac OS App: Built natively using Anti-gravity, the new Mac app seamlessly integrates with local files via Finder, allowing for powerful multimodal voice dictations.

🕶️ Hardware Highlights: Audio Glasses

Intelligent Eyewear: Arriving this fall! Google has partnered with Samsung, Qualcomm, Warby Parker, and Gentle Monster to release stunning Audio Glasses powered by Android XR. These glasses provide hands-free, heads-up access to Gemini. Whether you need walking navigation, want to order a coffee via DoorDash by simply looking at a cafe, or want to snap a stylized photo of what's in front of you, the glasses handle it seamlessly.

🔬 Looking Forward: Gemini for Science

Accelerating Discovery: Google announced Gemini for Science and advancements in simulation like Weather Next, which successfully predicted a Category 5 hurricane strike three days earlier and with greater accuracy than traditional systems.

This paper introduces LongLive-2.0, a new system designed to make creating long AI videos faster while using less memory. It uses a highly efficient math format (NVFP4) and processes video chunks in parallel. This approach avoids common training hurdles, speeding up video creation by over two times without losing quality.

Processing long videos in AI models is often slowed down by the visual encoder, the tool that analyzes each frame. This paper presents LiteFrame, a lightweight encoder trained to compress video data. By removing unnecessary calculations, LiteFrame processes eight times more frames, reducing delays by 35% without losing understanding accuracy.

Why do AI models refuse harmful requests? Researchers found they can identify a tiny fraction of internal connections, called neurons, that control this safety behavior. By turning off just these specific neurons, the AI stops refusing prompts, proving we can change AI behavior directly without hurting its overall speaking ability.
