GPT-5-Codex is the "Next Level" Coding Agent

Well, OpenAI just released a brand new model that no one quite expected.

It’s called GPT-5-Codex and it seems that it will be the king of Agentic Coding tools. After spending a few hours testing it, I have to say… it’s impressive.

We’re entering an agentic era where the default action is to delegate, not type. GPT‑5 Codex isn’t magic, and I still want to see it stress‑tested on gnarly, enterprise‑grade codebases. But for prototypes, utilities, and front‑end work—with vision, browsing, and long‑running autonomy—it already feels like a leap.
