Unleash the Power of AI with Amazon's Bedrock Platform

Build Enterprise-Scale AI Apps with Pretrained Models and In-House Titan FMs Hosted on AWS

Today:

With Bedrock, Amazon Enters The Generative AI Race

Amazon has launched a generative AI platform, Bedrock, which enables customers to build apps using pretrained models from start-ups, including AI21 Labs, Anthropic and Stability AI, hosted on AWS. Amazon's Bedrock also offers access to Titan FMs, a family of models trained in-house by AWS. The platform aims to help large customers build “enterprise-scale” AI apps. The models on Bedrock include AI21 Labs’ Jurassic-2 family, which are multilingual and can generate text in Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and Dutch. Stability AI’s suite of text-to-image Bedrock-hosted models, including Stable Diffusion, can generate images, art, logos and graphic designs.

Amazon Offers Free Access To Its AI Coding Assistant To Undercut Microsoft

Amazon has made its AI-powered coding assistant, CodeWhisperer, free for individual developers, competing with Microsoft's $10 per month pricing for its rival tool. CodeWhisperer generates lines of code based on a text-based prompt and includes security scanning features that identify vulnerabilities in the developer's code. The tool is now available to everyone who signs up to use it and supports several programming languages. Amazon has also launched Bedrock, which helps companies build and scale generative AI apps, including foundational models that developers can build upon.

What Is Auto-GPT? The Latest Player In AI's Race For Glory Has People *Freaking* Out

Auto-GPT is an open-source AI application that uses GPT-4 technology, allowing it to carry out tasks, such as market research, scheduling posts and writing relevant captions, generating entire blog posts, and responding to customer queries and complaints in any language required. Its unique ability is to create long-term business plans and models and execute them independently. However, the release of this AI technology has raised concerns among researchers, scientists, and big tech's biggest names like Elon Musk and Jaan Tallinn. They fear that AI is taking over and caution that powerful AI systems should be developed only once their effects and risks are manageable. These individuals suggest taking a moment to consider AI's impact on the way we live, as machines are becoming human-competitive at general tasks. There are mixed thoughts about whether we have taken AI too far or whether we should regulate AI development strictly. Meanwhile, Italian government banned ChatGPT, while UK MPs are holding off on introducing super strict AI regulation, for fear of "strangling innovation."

AI Will 'Accelerate' The Metaverse, Empower Creators: The Sandbox Co-Founder

The co-founder of The Sandbox, Sebastian Borget, has stated that the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the metaverse could increase the pace at which original work is created. Borget believes that AI can help accelerate and empower creators by generating and populating experiences faster. He added that AI can make the metaverse more creative, fun to play, and inclusive. The Sandbox is a user-generated and virtual gaming tool where users can build, own, and sell their gaming experiences. The Hong Kong-based platform's Game Client has a digital presence in several countries, including Japan, China, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.

Elon Musk Says He's Suffering "Existential Angst" About AI

Elon Musk tweeted about his "AI existential angst" over recent breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, which have raised concerns about the potential dangers it may pose to humanity. Musk has been critical of OpenAI, a company he helped found, and its investment partner, Microsoft. He has also warned about the potential for AI to bring down civilization. However, Musk still believes that being alive to witness the development of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is worth the anxiety it causes. With the ongoing arms race to build AI, it's possible that AI may be an inflection point for civilization itself.
