AI Search Wars Go Scorched Earth

Microsoft is looking at Google that owns 93% of the category and thinking “How can I scorch the earth?”

The All-In Podcast hosts some big tech investors including Chamath Palihapitiya and they have some solid insights from time to time.

Their latest podcast talks about the AI search wars that are taking place.

Here are some of my takeaways:

  • Google led the AI advancements for a long time, but purposefully kept AI focused on internal problems like improving ads, youtube etc.

  • Google did not want this AI out in the public BECAUSE of it’s ability to disrupt their search business.

  • Google has the best model ever to generate profit.

  • ChatGPT showed that this AI can easily disrupt search.

  • Microsoft is using ChatGPT to disrupt Google.

Microsoft is looking at Google that owns 93% of the category and thinking “How can I scorch the earth?”

Google will be forced to decay the quality of their business model to compete.
